Eh I don't normally wish people a happy birthday on my blog, and THIS IS TOTALLY NOT BECAUSE YOU'RE SPECIAL, LINGZHI. It's just because I happen to be free. Really.

Yup. Anyway. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINGZHI!!!! With assorted hearts etc whatever you put in a mushy birthday post. Thanks for being an awesome yearmate and WEP-mate last year with Jiayi (omg I still remember the sad incident when the food court closed down in the middle of our attachment #&@($&)

YAWP was pretty fun!

But before I say anything, thanks VTey and Nanthini, and Xinyuan's mum and aunt (?) for coming down to support us :D

Yup so after rehearsing/chionging our prop, we headed down to Hwach, dragging our corrugated board along with us. Thanks to Rachel's "I am very sure we can take that bus! Don't need to check la!", we took the wrong bus at Equatorial and had to walk back and take another LOL.

We ordered pizza while on the bus, and it came just as we reached the school. I wonder how vegetarians survive on their limited choices; I was happily eating both Veggie Lovers' and Hawaiian, but the veggie lovers could only eat Veggie Lovers'. Sad lives, though I rather admire their resolution.

We went after the AC guys' war poetry mashup, complete with foot-stamping, guitar-strumming and pictures of soldiers with mosaic-ed faces in the background.

Ours was titled Consumerist Paradise, and had absolutely no link to the theme whatsoever. (The theme was The Greatest Heroes Known lol.) All the same, it was pretty fun. We also did another one called Pop, which we wrote for Akilan's sake since he needed to fill up the time because 2 Indiv acts dropped out.

Then some HCJC team did a Carol Ann Duffy poem, which I can't quite remember except that one part went like "Dulce!...No! Et!...No! Decorum!...No! ...Pro patrio mori." It sounded rather impressive.

St Nick's' team consisted of a cute but surprisingly good team of Sec2 girls, who performed a poem about beauty. (Was sorta stoned by this point so I can't remember much.)

Russell (The Brave) went next, with his poem about a little boy who wanted to fly but couldn't. How on earth can people remember so many lines, gosh. Anyway I half expected him to burst into song ("I believe I can fly!") randomly during the performance.

Another Hwach JC team went last, with a self-written poem, "Superwoman", about gender roles. I think they were good, but I felt like a total prude listening to them. See, this girl was halfway through a line and suddenly when she came to some part with the word 'tits' in it, she kinda...grabbed her boobs and pushed them up violently. And there were very obvious BDSM references in it too :/ so I cringed my way through their performance.

I always thought I was corrupted, but this is totally 小巫见大巫 aaaaaah. I feel like a 良家妇女 now.

Judges' performances (heh caught Ng Yi-Sheng on video squeeee!) and prize giving next; AC won 3rd, the gender-roles HC team got 2nd, and St Nick's 1st. Best Individual Performer-converted-to-Outstanding Bravery Award naturally went to the only guy there who dared to go up alone. Guess who.

Yup so that concluded YAWP 2010, and despite not winning anything (actually we went there to lose) we did have a lot of fun (:

Hmm Last Training.

I'm quite proud of myself for not crying :D I still remember when our Sec4 ma'ams left back in '07 and after POP Chalet yearmates went to a food court in Simei, and we ordered fruit juice and sat there looking at their year photo while crying-and-trying-not-to-cry.

Maybe it's the numbing effect of having gone through 3 Last Trainings already, but each year it feels a little less painful. And this year I actually really enjoyed myself, as did yearmates (I think).

And Audrey, I think we consciously try to cheer ourselves up haha.

I don't think I will feel very sad at leaving, though. It's not the end unless you cut things off yourself. My dad's best friend was his CCA junior back in secondary school :D

Ohoh I really like what 411's planning on doing for Racial Harmony Day!

This is why I love my class - we aren't PC or act-cool rebellious; in fact, on paper we are a model class (RA class, sky-high GPAs, excellent conduct etc). But we are famously quirky, and despite all the laughter at Yvonne's "Genius is only a step away from madness" quote during Career Keys, we exemplify its meaning, really. Remember last year's RHD "One Rafflesian Race" photo? And the Fire Drill thing? We were special from the beginning.

So here's to an awesome RHD on Wednesday, and may everything go just as planned.

(I wonder when our next flash mob will be D:)

Yay well done juniors for CAC '10 :D

We've been getting champs for so many things this year! Unexpected, but awesome.

(Audrey's blogged about everything already, so I shan't bother with blow-by-blow recounts.)

RCYRD was really...weird. For me at least; Germaine's birthday was yesterday and the lucky girl got two cakes :O so I suppose it must've been a Really Good Day for her.

Firstly, I shall categorically state that the judging was definitely free from any bias. (: RGSRCY won it fair and square.

And, well, it wasn't very funny meeting old friends of my parents' later and getting cooed over as though I were five years old again. Though they ARE nice people, definitely, and if it were in another context I should have been very glad to see them again properly.

Unit dinner was cool! And I like the way planes fly low over Sengkang (because they'd have just taken off near Jalan Kayu/Seletar?); there's a free airshow for us residents every Saturday, except it was even better yesterday because we were dining alfresco under the fading light (:

But since I had dinner at home (spaghetti woohoo), I just ate ice-cream and left early to eat properly back home. Bah.

Sigh I felt sick for most of the day today and thought I'd never make it past English, but somehow I miraculously got better and managed to pay attention during Physics (which was during free block grah how annoying is that? Now I'll have to watch the ArtsFest video and try to practise on my own at home.)

Then Exco interviews, which are finally over :D Can't say much here, but discussion after that was interesting haha. In between interviews we watched Annoying Orange and some random ventriloquist on Youtube to keep ourselves entertained while Mr Lim marked papers.

I miss lots of things about being a junior, but getting interviewed for stuff isn't one of them. Heh.

Tralala life is good :D despite Chem being on Friday, but we'll get to go out after that yay.

Serious YAWP rehearsals on Thursday next week!

I have regained my faith in my own tech skills!

Because I have

*dramatic pause*

...SET UP MY HOME WIRELESS NETWORK!!!!

WAHAHA anticlimax right. But my dad was going to pay someone to do it because he claimed he didn't know how to.

You see, I was feeling grumpy yesterday about the fact that we don't have wireless internet, and seeing the brand-new wireless gateway still in its box made me even grumpier.

Then I noticed that the plastic wrapping was still on - nobody'd even opened it yet to try fixing it up. Which was actually kinda annoying, because how can we just pay people to do something we haven't tried doing ourselves yet!

So I tore open the package myself, read the user guide and set it up.

Hooray, internet connection intact (and faster too)!

Then I realised my phone could detect the wifi and had happily leeched onto it. Which meant it wasn't actually secure yet and that anyone within range could use it. Whoops.

Desperately flipped through the pdf guide before realising I was hopelessly lost. Bohpian still needed to call my uncle to ask him what I had to do. Sigh.

But anyway he was nice and explained the terms and stuff in the user guide, so I managed to secure it after that. :D

Omg I feel like such a tech genius now. Applaud me please.

My legs are complete football magnets.

You see, we had PE first block today, and I decided I wanted to play defender because I can't attack for nuts when playing soccer.

It was a Bad Idea.

What happened was that Aidi (striker for the other team; immensely good) kicked the ball really hard, aiming for the goal.

Being the defender, I had to block the goal.

Put these two together, and you can guess what happened; the ball thwacked into my left leg with a resounding thud.

But seeing as my legs are fairly strong and the ball wasn't too hard, it wasn't very painful, so I continued defending, glad that my legs were of some use after all (despite the fact that I hadn't actually kicked the ball away from the goal myself).

Then the other team came back and attempted to score again. This time, it was the right leg.

Okay, so that hurt. At least it wasn't the same leg. Never mind.

This time, I tried my darndest to kick the ball before it kicked me first. Didn't work. It hit me on BOTH my shins.

Finally, just as I was complaining and whining for the game to be over, the ball sailed into the air in a last-ditch attempt by the other team to score a goal before the game ended. Whee!

...It hit me on my left thigh. OH JOY.

I can't remember how many goals I managed to block, but I can quite definitely say that most of them were rather involuntary.

(Though I'm quite amazed at how bouncy my shins are. The ball just bounced right off them and flew in the opposite direction. Wao. :O)

I am dying of boredom mugging for Bio.

Why on earth did I choose to take Bio when I hate mugging?! There is like a TON of mugging to do.

Why must Meiosis have two stages wtf if they could do it all at one go just like Mitosis, everything would be so much easier.

And I can't remember the sequence for Mitosis/Meiosis what Prophase Metaphase Anaphase Telophase WHAT KIND OF A NAME IS TELOPHASE ANYWAY. Every time I see the word "Telophase", Telephone by Gaga starts playing in my head.

("I'M BUSY-EH-EH-EH-EH-EH, STOP TELEPHONING MEH-EH-EH-EH-EH-EH!")

Sigh but my Chem's already a 2.0; can't let my 3.6 for Bio slip :X (Besides, my MYA marks are far below the cohort average for Bio.)

("STOP CALLING, STOP CALLING, I DON'T WANNA THINK ANYMORE!")
