School's starting tomorrow.

Screw you, life. And hello 3 weeks of exams -.-

I feel like I haven't wasted my holidays, though I haven't gotten much work done either. CCA just swallowed up my time. (In case I get people coming up to me and telling me that a few days in a month is not that bad, I shall first point out that I have TWO CCAS.)

Sigh at least I'm fairly decently prepared for Math. SS is really bad, though; for once I have no idea what the SS Dept is trying to tell us, and if I can't get the big picture I can only nitpick, and my marks will suffer accordingly. Cannot afford to get less than 4.0 :X

I'm not studying for English. How does one study for English anyway -.-

Okay, I'll admit it, despite my mild cynicism about everything in general, and especially about people who go round grinning their heads off and trying to make people happy all the time.

I really, really liked this short film. It's awesome. WATCH IT.

I occasionally really, really hate being myopic.

See, my mum dragged me to the salon to get my hair cut on Wednesday night. I told the stylist I wanted my fringe to be above my eyebrows (legal mah), but she went and cut it, like, 1000000cm too short. AND I COULDN'T STOP HER BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE WHAT SHE WAS DOING BECAUSE MY GLASSES WERE OFF.

This is it; I'm getting contacts next year. Urghhh. Now I look freaking ugly in every single combined AV camp photo. Add that to the fact that I'm already extremely unphotogenic, and there's a recipe for disaster, Facebook-style.

(Started on this post yesterday and finished it today.)

HCMediaTech-RGAVPA combined AV camp was AWESOME ;DD

Day 1 at RG was quite fun. Both excos met up earlier to set up, and when everyone came we played icebreaker games. I attached myself to a group which had problems, uh, sitting in a circle. (One of the RG people absolutely refused to sit next to a guy -.- primary school mentalities much sigh)

Manning the KSChee AV station was terribly boring :X There isn't much equipment in the KSChee, so I just repeated my lecture on the different mixer knobs for any Sec1s who didn't already know. (Obviously all the Hwach guys nodded when I asked if they knew, sigh). For their benefit I emphasised the fact that GAIN IS NOT THE SAME AS VOLUME, so I hope none of them answered the question wrongly during Station Games. I love explaining the use of EQ! I get to screech and deepen my voice to annoy juniors, all in the name of making explanations fun. Heh.

'Event Management Sharing' was replaced with 'Mrlee's Light Truss Fun!'. Which is infinitely more awesome, but I decided to stay back and jaga bags with Vic. Two nice exco members from HC joined us, and promptly started up a game of Daidi (or was it Taiti? Whatever) with Vic, while I sat back and reread Invitation to Treat. BenCheong kept giving my book suspicious looks HAHAHA.

Station Games was okayish; my station was fairly hard (1 person skip 10 times, 2 people recite alphabet backwards, 1 person hit shuttlecock 10 times with racket, 1 RG person sing 2 lines of HC school song, 1 HC person sing 2 lines of RG school song), but fun.

Team Exco won Captain's Ball :DDDDD (Playing with guys is so scary. Normally when girls play ball games we pass the ball, hesitate, throw it across a quarter of the court and hope someone else catches the ball. Guys seem to ALWAYS get the ball :X and they move really, really fast. But Exco had all the good players, so ;D)

And yeah that was basically it for the first day.

Today was far more awesome. I reached HCI at 7.15 and was under the impression that I was late for exco dance practice, until someone told me that we were only supposed to meet at 7.30 -.- sian. I nearly fell asleep while waiting for the rest; only Vic and Karmun were there (from the RG exco).

Dance prac was DAMN FUN. Ponyo/Sorry Sorry/Hoedown Throwdown FTW!

Ruihao and Gary are super pro when it comes to dancing :O Everyone pushed Gary in front for Sorry Sorry and Ruihao for Hoedown Throwdown haha.

I missed most of the day's events though :/ went to J8 to buy movie tickets and Coro to buy lunch from Golden Rooster with Ruihao and

(at this point I needed to go to bed. This was continued on Saturday aka today)

...Xinyuan. We managed to get Karmun a cake at J8 too (it was her birthday! :D) and at the bus stop this kid doing YFC got the other two to buy stress balls for charity. They matched heh. (The stress balls, I mean.)

At Golden Rooster the guy was so happy about our buying 45 packets of chicken rice that he gave us free drinks! :D Then we bus-ed back to HCI and the driver was Rather Bemused at us hahaha.

K then photomarathon for the participants and MAJOR DANCE MUGGING for Exco lol. We practised really hard for Hoedown Throwdown. (But in the end still quite fail la sigh)

Then finale and group performances! Eh not bad la considering we only sprung it on them in the evening on Day 1. Bet they had a lot of, cough, productive discussions on MSN that night. Heh.

Oh there were a lot of Qiyun jokes made during the performances. Like the "AND HE THOUGHT HE'D CONQUERED MOUNT GODZILLA... BUT THEN HE SAW QIYUN!!!!! *falls down and dies*" hahaha.

And all the references to Qiyun's crushes were quite amusing too. Haha popular guy la.

Exco dance was the best, of course. We were surprisingly coordinated! (Haha all the "ENCORES" can testify to that.)

WE THE BEST YAY.

Then closing, and we went for dinner, after which the Hwach guys went for a movie together (: (Aww so bromantic right. I think they were quite sad because all the RG girls pangsehed them)

Anyway. HCMediaTech + RGAVPA combined AV camp FTW :DD

EVERYONE CONGRATULATE ME FOR I'M IN LOVE

...WITH THE SSPT PROPOSAL FORM!!!

There's this really awesome dropdown list in it. Which usually isn't much, but it's in MS WORD.

How on earth did the SS Dept manage to put a dropdown list in Word?!

In any case, I am completely enamoured with it. I shall rightclick it until it gives up its mysteries, and then I'll be able to duplicate it in all my other Word docs in future MUAHAHA DROPDOWN LIST WOR(L)D DOMINATION

(...Sorry going a bit nuts.)

Sigh. So much for fun holiday plans.

(Typical scene before my mum goes out to work at 1pm)

Mum: And I'll be off...do your homework...don't go out unnecessarily...

Me: Yeah okay :D

Mum: Oh, and by the way, the floor looks dirty. *meaningful look*

Me: Huh?

Mum: You have to clean it.

Me: *sian look*

Mum: However, you do have an option!

Me: *perks up* I DO?!

Mum: Yeah, you can use the broom or the vacuum cleaner! The broom's easier to use, but the vacuum cleaner cleans better. *grin*

There's always SOMETHING around the house that needs to be done. Rawrghhhhh.

Two really sweet videos:

Like Kinnari, I've had Bieber stuck in my head since Thursday thanks to RMUN D&D.

(Btw the Crisis video's on Facebook!)

I just realised that my house is really pretty in the morning :D I hardly ever get to see it because I'm always at school. It's nice to have breakfast in a quiet, airy environment for once.

Haha wth I just found this amusing for some odd reason.
Thursday, June 3, 2010

I can't believe the first thing I did after getting home from RMUN was to sit at the computer and read FANFIC.

Xinyuan, this is all your fault.

Anyway yesterday and today were really fun :D Crisis was awesome. Libya experienced an earthquake which damaged a biochemical weapons storage facility, and all the weapons had 'Made In China' stamped on them. The whole world got pissed with China for making weapons for Libya, but it categorically declared that all allegations were false statements made up by the evil West.

...At least until the China and DPRK delegates for Ecosoc decided to hold a press conference, where they announced that China was indeed the owner of the biochemical weapons, and would be removing them from Libya right away -.-

GA1 and GA2 merged for Crisis! Eth and Zingy were the Chinese GA delegates haha so awesome we kept sending them random notes, one of which got confiscated.

The Scandinavian bloc was supposed to be calling for peace, so Denmark cosubmitted a reso with Norway, Yemen, France and Columbia calling for the peaceful regulation of biochemical weapons in Africa. It got passed :D

Plenary was really boring, so our delegation decided to pick a fight with the South African delegation through note-passing. We had a delicious catfight which ended with SA huffily refusing to reply to our (actually, Denise's) "NYEH NYEH BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO REPLY" note with a :P face drawn on it.

The confiscated notes were hilarious. Eg. "hot date tonight?", "will you be my date?", "THE ASSISTANT DIRECTORS ARE SO NOSY" (they read all the notes before passing them) and "RENJIE SO HOT". Also, "SEC-GEN COMES INTO OUR COUNCIL TO STEAL WATER" and something about imagining the Sec-Gen's butt (I think. WTF esp considering who the Sec-Gen is).

Vic won Best Article and Denise got Best Presentation, yay :D

D&D was actually relatively okay. All the RGS girls bunched together to change and eat first before entering the (actually rather small) room. Nobody dared to dance at first, but later people started forming chains and running in circles around the room while bouncing to the music. Later part of GA1 decided to heckcare D&D and go back to LT5 to sit around and talk.

...Actually I still have quite a lot to blog about, like the fact that I was one of the few who actually bothered to follow the theme and dressed as a small-town gangster (couldn't find any Mafia-ish clothes); all the other girls just turned up in the usual slinky dresses -.- felt so out of place at first because everyone else was tottering about in killer heels while I was wearing my Converse hightops. :X At least Denise wore normal stuff too, and we both wore our RGS130 caps. Teehee.

Today was...a little boring, but kinda fun anyway. :D

USA and Lebanon provided drama by combining resos with France, then bailing out on him. France looked rather pissed off whoops. But he got Columbia and Yemen to support him in the end la.

Ethanyn is China, and she's sitting right in front of me! VChiam is Bosnia, Yan Ping is Afghanistan and Ni Qian is UK.

Oh and DPRK didn't even turn up. So I just dumped all my stuff on his seat. Whee.

I think I'm doing a pretty pathetic job; only made 2 speeches in the entire day and shut up the rest of the time. Meh.
