(This was supposed to be posted yesterday.)
Heh today was quite fun :D
Went to Manpuku Japanese Gourmet Town in TampinesOne (Omg I just typed Tampines as Tam... knvm) with my grandparents today. Was a bit hard, because both of them can't really walk properly nowadays because of their arthritis/lack of strength in their legs. They managed fine, though. My grandpa was grumping around when we got there because he wanted to eat and my grandma wanted to shop -.- They don't like escalators either, so we took the only working elevator - the other one was spoilt.
Was overall quite fun, except that we learnt that old people don't really like new things. I was walking with my grandpa to the toilet (he can't see signs, so I was supposed to direct him to the washroom) when I asked him how the food was. He pronounced it "rather bad" and added grumpily that he wasn't even full yet :/ Ah well. It's quite touching though; he apparently only likes his wife's cooking (:
Oh and I learnt a lot of random things about my grandparents today, like the fact that my grandma's mother (aka my great-grandma) was only 16 when she gave birth to my grandma. Scaryyy. And that my grandpa is secretly a math genius; he was poor and had no money and had to worry about his family's livelihood when he was in secondary school but still got 3rd in his cohort for Math in Sec 1 IS THAT OWNAGE OR IS THAT OWNAGE HAH MY GRANDPA PWNS EVERYONE ELSE'S GRANDPAS IN MATH.
And btw it's not that he became lousy at Math after that or anything, he just had to quit school because his parents couldn't afford the fees. Ah well. His school fees were crazily high, like $30 a month or something (which in the 1950s was a lot of money). Siao la.

Oh this is classic:
"Scope of Challenge Shield
The scope for the quiz will be history and current affairs, as its name suggests. History refers to post-World War Two world history, whereas current affairs refers to social/political/economic events and happenings around the globe and include questions on social/political/economic facts like “Who is the Prime Minister of India?” Questions on current affairs will be limited to the period from 2000 to 2009 . "
Ha ha ha. And I was the one who answered "Indira Gandhi" for that question too.
(But what's wrong with Indira Gandhi?! I mean, someone who gets assassinated is definitely a candidate for great political power. It's always like that, right?)
[edit] I just realised that the Humanities Quiz question was "Who was the FIRST prime minister of India?" (to which I answered "Indira Gandhi"). She was apparently the fifth prime minister, not the first T.T
Well at least I know who the current PM of India is. He's, uh, Dr Manmohan/Mamohan/Manmonhan Singh. Well, something like that.
