YAY CAC :DDD
2nd in District, 2nd overall!
Well done manzzzzzz.
I keep remembering the "yearmates take more sweets!!" thing haha.
--
Okay so met Aud and Lingzhi at AMK MRT at freaking 8.45 am, and after a very short bus ride we happily traipsed into the school compound a whopping 1 hour too early.
Then choped seats in the gallery and everything (after an incident that nearly involved fresh dog poo), and went down to present dark chocolate to the CAC people, which they probably didn't eat in the end but nevermind :)
Sindhu has an amazing BBC accent. She sounds like the MRT announcer person ("Please stand behind the yellow line.") Sara sounds more normal, but she looks like she's going to sell you something. :D
Then I forgot what happened, but basically we alternated between stoning around in the gallery and doing homework, and running downstairs to
annoy talk to yearmates.
Lunch break was, uh, paiseh. It heralded the start of Laugh At Crystal Day. Everyone else ate curry chicken and rice while I ate kangkong and egg, but I got the last laugh for that round because their chicken tasted kind of raw and rubbery HAH.
We had lots more time so we slacked around more.
Then results for District and finalists :D Yup 2nd and top 8, and my dear Aud+Lz screamed so loud that I could FEEL my eardrums vibrating. Was faintly scary.
More slacking, then 2nd round, which was filled with Tough Questions. Felt so inadequate just looking at them can.
The Curse struck then, though, and for the next few questions the tittering from the 2 rows behind us was somewhat audible. It's one thing to be famous, and another to be famous for entirely wrong reasons. And yet another to feel like people are staring at the back of your head all the time. (Or maybe they were staring at Lingzhi's.)
Tiebreaker round was, uh, rather short. Then results, yay :D and school cheers after.
Unit dinner was at Fish&Co, so now I'm broke and so are yearmates, who all ordered fish and chips and made me order because it's Laugh At Crystal Day. The waiter looked somewhat amused at our antics. (Sheesh I'm starting to majorly sound like Xinyuan. "Somewhat amused" and "antics"?!) Anyway, we have good estimation skills so we were only 60cents short when the bill came yay. Yearmates couldn't finish their food so I koped Lz and Sindhu's fries.
And unit bonding haha. Played games, but I had to leave early with Aud and Lingzhi because our parents would scream if we reached home any later already.
Of course, my parents had a great time on their Sakae Sushi date. Good for them. At least I wasn't around to be a big bulbous lightbulb.
