Somehow at CAP, everyone knows someone somebody else knows, which is kind of creepy because all the links come back to you. :D

Oh no SPH thingy tomorrow. Sian, I'm still suffering from CAP hangover. It shouldn't last THAT long, right?!

I admire the people who can switch modes effortlessly. If I'm in, say, AV mode, I just CAN'T do anything year-related until a few hours later. In that sense, I'm somewhat glad that I shut out everything about RGS life when I was in CAP, or I'd have had a Mode Clash. Disasterous. The last time I had one, I wrote some poem about Flag Days. It turned out so corny that I cringe while reading it now, even though it ended up in my CAP portfolio. Aaah screwupscrewupscrewup.

And mentorship portfolio is freaking me out. I thought being a scenario writer would give me a little more confidence in my own writing, but when I saw everyone else's writing at CAP I just died. Honestly, now that it's over, I can openly say that I put down "Chick Literature, such as The Princess Diaries" as my favourite genre of books on my application form. It was partly a subtle nose-thumbing at the emos who put, I don't know, "Ancient Classical Novels and Shakespeare Plays" on their forms, but it's partly true too.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH LIKING THE PRINCESS DIARIES, HUH?!?!

Besides, when I borrowed the book from Vic and brought it to class, a whole lot of people asked if they could borrow it. It just shows that everyone has an inner romantic (or an inner elevenyearold), and some people choose to let that inner romantic take over sometimes in their choice of books to read for leisure.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure mentors don't want mentees who read chick lit. They'd probably rather have...I don't know, Xinyuan? The kind who write poems that require literary analysis to find the deep meaning inside them. I wrote about flag days and hamburgers for my portfolio. It's trivial and I like trivial things, but trivial things just don't cut it.

I shall cut this part of my post short because I'm starting to sound like a self-pitying freak with no talent.

The karung guni guy's coming at 3pm to take away the old TV, because we just got a new one and it's coming in two days. I kind of miss the old one, because I've watched so many awesome shows on it. But it's CRT, the colours are slowly fading into black, white, grey and we should have dumped it long ago for a shiny new LCD.

Oh well.

And I'm dreaming of a new computer, but deep inside I know this one's still perfectly functional. (And it's so pretty! :D) Besides, we've already gotten a lot of new tech gadgets this month. I just got a pink shiny camera which I took along with me to CAP, only to find that it doesn't have SteadyShot and my pictures are blurry. But at least I still have pictures.

Year outing countdown: 4 more days to go.

[edit] The full blow of Vic's saying that she thinks I have something going with _____ just hit me, and suddenly "duh, no" just doesn't express it well enough. Do I look like that kind of person, seriously? Ewww. Some people, like me, don't get influenced by the scandalousness of CAP okay.
