I confess. I finally confess.

I've been blogstalking Xinyuan for the past 1 1/2 years. Um, ever since her blog address was cy-ni-cal (was it?) or something.

Despite her constant attempts to get me to reveal my blogstalker identity, I didn't because I thought I was the only freaky one around to do so.

Today, I found out that I have company, so I am finally coming out of the....um, cyber-anonymity.

In fact, I shall reveal that I blogstalk Vic as well. I doubt she'll mind though, she'll just ask me to tag more or something.

On the bright side, I found my phone, and squeezed out another poem for mentorship application so yay.

CHEER UP AUDREY :D

I feel kind of mean for not doing AV duty for ICS show because Xinyuan's performing, but hey, Sec1s need functions right? xD

Besides, I can't make it on Wednesday. Sheesh.

--

Aaaaah my scenario evaluation's probably going to be submitted by the Outside Evaluators tomorrow. Barring any late submissions, of course. For once, I want RS but RS eludes me, stupid timetable change.

I'm falling in love with Alex.

And he's more perfect than you think, because he's my draft.

Yeah, my draft's called Alex, because Alex sounds better than X Marks The Spot, which is what I named my draft for lack of ideas on what to name it. Or him. I love anthromorphosising (is that how you spell it? My spelling phayle) inanimate objects.

I hope they won't diss Alex, because Alex rocks. Not the character though, he's a superficial jerk who should die a ------. In fact, he's based on real people who should also die as ------s. I love inserting caricatures of real people into my pieces, since they are not going to read them anyway. Muahahaha.

I emo because I don't understand indices. My maths also phayle.

Sian.

I wonder what it'd be like if the Phantom wrote a love poem to Christine Daae. But are songs just poems with music?

The musical's supposed to be better, but I have no money to watch it, so ohwell.

"Nighttime sharpens
Heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses..."

I love Gerard Butler's voice, because even though he didn't have voice training he brought a husky rough quality to the Phantom's singing. :D

Oh no mustmust work on portfolio. Die die die die die.

I thought all government organizations were easy to get to, but there are NO BUS STOPS near ROM! Aaaaaaaahhhhh.

Actually, I'm not even going. Never mind.

I feel emo. As in, seriously. Someone cheer me up please. I know I haven't exactly been kind, courteous and helpful, but I can't have been THAT bad, right?

Or maybe I am.

Oh dear why did I sign up for mentorship. Now I need to collate all my poems and inject literary merit and cheemness into them, which will prove an impossible task and I won't get in anyway.

I hate large shopping centres with high-class goods.

Vic dear, you don't need to campaign, seriously. In fact, you will win even if you just sit there and do nothing, because nobody in their right mind would vote me for vice-chair despite the nomination, which I assure you is COMPLETELY CUSTOMARY only because I'm lower sec coord. Lol.

I kind of hope nobody re-nominates me as upper sec coord though. It'd be damn sian to do the same job AGAIN.

Grah.

--

Today was sian, again.

Had some talk with Ms Lee in, because she thought I stand a chance at RA (Hah. I wish.) and I should really just "work a little harder" to achieve my goals or something. I know I looked super dao+rude because I was giving her a "yeah right" look when she was talking about RA, but I really think I won't go for it, even if I do somehow scrape a 3.6 overall GPA this year. It'd be so paiseh if I get kicked out because of bad grades, and anyway RA is for overachievers/Really Pro People. Uh-uh. Not me.

And she thinks I'm Kind, Courteous and Helpful. I feel so bad because I think she thinks I'm a really great person, but I'm not. In fact, most people started laughing when I told them about it.

Ms Lee's really nice, but it's just me.

Nothing else of interest happened. Tata.

Oh, what irony when "I am morally superior" can be heard in a rebuke of think-they're-morally-superior people.

After all, morals are just things society agrees upon to make life more convenient for everyone else.

Today was so sian la.

Had ICT, where we did 3D graphics. I got lost somewhere after the snowman bit and gave up. The rest of the lesson was spent trying to figure out how to drag the vertices of a cube into the correct place. Compared to Xinyuan's imba Guy Who Has Blood Pouring From His Head (it DID kind of look like that), my cube was pathetic. What's more, it was what every New Document came with.

Maths was okay. First two lessons always very shiok.

Vic suddenly became pro at the Bottle Game during recess.

Then History. It was fairly okay la, though we've heard about World War II so often that it's already stale.

Science was stoned. 'Nuff said. My Appendix B lies untouched in my file, but it's already done and printed. I just don't dare to hand it in.

During lunch, I practised the Throw Version of the Bottle Game, with mixed success.

CLE was subject combi talk. Everyone in AV loves Lit.

RS was okay la. Luckily I finished yesterday or I'd be panicking like crazy today. I can't stand last minute work.

House capt nominees filming was terrible. I won't say anymore in case I get sued for libel.

Hello dearies.

I have no life.

As in, seriously. I have no life.

Apart from doing stuff like year outings and singing random songs with my yearmates, I have no life.

Apart from writing emo poems and complaining about how despite my passion for prose last time, I can't stand writing it now because it is SO FREAKINGLY LONG and I have no patience to carry it through, I have no life.

Apart from doing mundane household chores, listening to my mum talk about her day at work with little kiddies, getting foot massages from the foot massager machine, I have no life.

Apart from coming up with new recipes for mashed potato (with butter and salt, with mayo?) and cooking up a (literal) storm, complete with thunder, lighting and oil scalds, I have no life.

Apart from dying attempting to cram 1000000000001 things into my schedule all at once AND manage my schoolwork and grades (which admittedly, I'm not doing very well), I have no life.

Apart from trying to do as much as I can for AVPA without dying (which I'm not managing great, either) in my last months as lower sec coordinator before my term ends, calling people for the functions the school loves to organize, I have no life.

Apart from trying to find another canning project I can go for to waste time on and irritate people on the street and possibly dragging my yearmates along because I know they loooove canning (YEARMATES YOU KNOW YOU LOVE THIS STUFF), I have no life.

Dang, I have no freaking life. And I'm not even done listing yet because I need to go do my bloody RS report. Which is due tomorrow. Told you; I have no life.

As if Life is made up of important things like, I don't know, finding a cure for cancer? What happened to the happiness you can find even in the mundaneness of life?

I know I've reposted this at least once before, but I couldn't resist reposting it again. Remember last year's compo topic? This is Vic's take on it. I contributed a leeeeetle bit. Damn funny seh.

熟悉的陌生人

我每一次到江申八(sorry lar dunno the proper one. Just read it out loud!) 吃肯德鸡(I also dunno this one. I help y'all ok? This one's KFC)

Lol Mr Nuh finally blogged on the Ethe'Real blog.

Haha apparently RGS staff DO watch Feichang Superband? Since he said his colleagues saw him on TV and all.

(Random. Michael (Corbidge) on finding out Nick Quah's more famous than him: "Hey I've seen you on TV! Aren't you that debater guy from The Arena? But you're famous! YOU'RE MORE FAMOUS THAN ME!" *shocked look*)

And Hannah said Nicholas saw some girl's blog, on which there was a picture of his face with "MY FUTURE BOYFRIEND" emblazoned on it. Poor guy.

Anyway. I was hoping to be able to go for their first competition round, but all my commitments are whispering traitorously to me and in any case, my parents wouldn't let me go. Unless it's a Support School Activity or something.

Sian.

Um yay go Mr Nuh and bandmates for Feichang Superband '08!

120th post.

I've been freakily blogstalking people for the past few hours. And if they ever find that out, they'll be scared off because I don't really know them that well, actually.

On a random note, I miss Rosyth.

Specifically, NExIT Club. And my (unofficial) group, which consisted of BryanLee, Shiyuan, Jarrad and me. Unfortunately, Joel was sometimes thrown in with us and he kept trying to kick me out because "it should be an all-guy group". Whatever man.

(For the uninitiated, NExIT Club stands for National Education and Information Technology Club. It was formed with the merger of Guardians of Heritage, which I was in in P4, and IT Club.)

Oh and the seniors: Muni, Adil, Gifford (?), Jane and the rest who I can't remember, sorry! I was kind of scared of the mainstream seniors because on my first day of Guardians of Heritage, they seemed to be discriminating against the GEPers, and I was the only one from my GEP batch there at that time, before Bryan, Shiyuan, Rad and Joel joined in P5.

I won't ever forget Learn@SDC(Learn@SingaporeDiscoveryCentre), which was the first time I ever saw a 3G phone. My teammates were awesome: Bryan, Jarrad, Shiyuan. It was raining all the while and we didn't win anything, but I'm really glad they never clumped together and left me out, even though it'd be kind of expected if they did. Haha and I remember sharing an MP3 player with Shiyuan because he didn't have one, and then he started liking MCR or something and switched over to share with Rad (who has a bigger collection of MCR songs) so I got both earphones for the rest of the trip.

We weren't very good seniors too, because we kept to our own clique all the time while pretending it was for the sake of discussing competition stuff. Whoops.

I think I'd prefer being in an all-guy group really, because even though guys are careless and everything, they have a nicer (and more risque) sense of humour and forget all the right things, like arguments and bad feelings. For the whole of P6, I was mostly in guy groups (meaning I was the only girl in my group), because there were 7 girls in a class of 23 people and that just isn't enough to go round. Somehow, like Xinyuan, I'd end up being the girl left out, so. Not that I minded it much, because my group was cool: Caleb, Justin, Shiyuan.

i remember jumping around like a crazy idiot when i got my groupings then because...heh.
Vic's group discussed Motty and The Giant Rat And Its Bouncy Sanitary Pad or something, but mine discussed something even more R(A), hah! I think I was a sick kid in P6 because of those guys, who are VERY open about sharing guy stuff. Like how they compare *ahem* lengths or something. (Though I still don't believe they take rulers into the loo. In any case, I never really dared borrow a ruler from any guy ever again, except Shiyuan because he's too innocent to do that sort of stuff. I think.)

I shall try to go for 6GEPRosyth06 batch reunion, I promise :D (Class reunion just sounds weird, because we were in two classes after all. Even though we acted like we were one big class of 46 people sometimes xD)

614+615 '06 love :)

Gosh today was so tiring but fulfilling.

First lesson was HCL, but Chenlaoshi just came in dumped worksheet went out so duh nobody did the worksheet. I think we ended up playing the bottle game or something. BOTTLE GAME FTW :) Grah Hannah can so do the Throw Version and I can't. Nobody in OG2 could do it, though, except maybe Jiashun but we didn't ask.

Then recess, and cooking. I wasn't actually in a pretty good mood today, but at least it wasn't a snap-at-other-people mood. Think it was the better time management we had today, and my cool partner who fried the egg and put so much pepper in that I could smell it before tasting it even though it was supposed to be my job whoops.

The nasi lemak was nice, and we are Health-Conscious People because our nasi only had 1 tablespoonful of coconut cream instead of 2 heh.

Somewhere at the end of the lesson Xinyuan took out her notebook thingy and we were talking about poetry. It's actually okay to leave room for interpretation when writing a poem, but I don't think it should get to the point where people just read it and go all "HUH WTH IS HE/SHE TALKING ABOUT LA" and then they'll dismiss it as (quote borrowed from Xinyuan) 'an impenetrable wall of words'.

Wasn't poetry meant as a form of communication in the first place? But if people can't understand it, the point is lost. Cheemness isn't necessarily good.

Anyway we had assembly next. CO, drama then dance? I wanted to watch LD's performance, but we kind of gave up because it was a choice between getting seen by everyone offstage and being able to watch or keeping inconspicuous but missing the show. Oh well. Dance was...well. But I admire the dancers' professionalism; some of them were looking quite sian backstage but they didn't show it on stage at all. When they finished their performance they looked sian again. :/

Phototaking was fun heh. "1, 2, 3, jump!" "Yayyyyy."

Then we stayed back to eat lunch, but Audrey/Peilin/Ruth dears went to eat at SUBWAY, the horror :O

Oh and I think Lz Sindhu Verna and I had a lot of exercise today, we were walking around the school :D
Thursday, June 19, 2008

I am horrified at myself.

Today, instead of slacking around like I normally do while waiting for stuff, I found myself WRITING POETRY.

Which is what Hannah does, but she is A Real CAPper while I am not. (Not saying that I'm fake la but I'm not your stereotypical CAPper. I usually write with a purpose in mind, not to CURE BOREDOM!)

At least the 2 poems were of reasonably okay standard. Since I only started writing poetry this year, I really really need to buck up on that. And when I have time I am going to try playwriting, I promise. Was inspired by Michael Corbidge. (Oh when, oh when, is The Pillowman going to be at the DBS Arts Centre again?)

--

Lol lol lol I just saw the AV exco nominations for 09. Xinyuan's like the only one nominated for secretary haha. Despite supposedly being nominated for vice-chair, I don't see why they just give the post to Vic, because she actually thinks AV PWNS CAP.

How is that humanly possible? Not that AV's bad, but CAP PWNS EVERYTHING. Except maybe year outings but those are above comparison. :D

I'm aching all over, but otherwise, yesterday was...okay la. Not great but we know where to improve on now so.

--

Oh and I'm really proud, seriously, and I'm glad that there are people still willing to do what I did last year :) It takes some courage to stand up to a persuasive senior, but having the guts to do it is admirable. And of course, it's for a really good cause :D

Even though I'm now short of one person whoops.

...K nevermind Boonhwee says can. :)

I am such a failed Lower Sec coord, but at least my term in exco's ending soon, and we'll be starting interviews all over again for exco '09.

Yay.
Monday, June 16, 2008

I'm stoned. And sick of RS report.

When is Denise going to officially join the AVPA Sec2 batch?! VIC HAVE YOU TOLD BOONHWEE YET.

Sorry that was random, and brought on because I miss doing AV stuff.

I just remembered something I was going to tell my yearmates, but I'm even too lazy to tell them.

What is the world coming to.

I just realised something: if I were my friend, I'd totally hate myself and end the friendship right there and then.

I can't stand myself sometimes, sheesh. And I just recalled a paiseh thing I did last year which at that point of time seemed completely right and proper to do, but with the benefit of hindsight it just seems...paiseh.

--

I just got reminded of yesterday by Audrey's blog.

The mannequin had (since Aud's too polite, I shall say it for her) MANBOOBS.

I was talking about the mannequin and how it looked like a dead guy, but some yearmates said it looked like a she because it had boobs. That was when we realised it was a he with boobs.

I have to thank my dear yearmates, because they were completely nice and kept teaching me all the stuff that was needed. I went to school with a Failure Mindset and by the time I reached Plaza Sing, I had a lot more confidence already. Yay.

I forgot to add this.

Yay yearmates :D

We rock, as usual.

From Audrey's blog :D And no, I did NOT feel like doing this quiz simply because of the Last Option.

Read and understand the instructions below before attempting this quiz.

If you scored more than 30, I strongly recommend some counselling!
If you scored more than 20, you're paranoid.
If you scored more than 10, you're normal.
If you scored less than 10, you're fearless.
If you scored 0, you're full of crap.

I am bored, because I got sick of studying while at my grandma's house (the food there rocks though, and I'd give a neatly ironed bandage for another piece of steamed threadfin with sesame oil cooked by my grandma).

Apparently all Sec 1 NY girls have to do Scenario Writing. Oh well. At least they don't have to do that dratted RS report.

Why didn't Xinyuan update? Reading her blog is even better than talking to her on MSN. Talking to her on MSN is better than talking to her facetoface. It's a ranking thing. Her blog doesn't have her picture on it. Her MSN picture can't move or change expressions, which her real face obviously can. (Not that she's ugly, it's just that talking to her facetoface regularly freaks me out because she can look darned scary at times).

I sound like a freaky blogstalker. Oh dear. (I swear I'm not, I just love reading others' blogs.)

I hate mugging. I hate mugging. I hate mugging.

111th post.

Heh I just watched the film for The Phantom Of The Opera.

I don't get why Christine likes Raoul more; the Phantom loves her so much, and in any case she was still torn between Erik and Raoul even at the end. The Phantom declared his love for her ("Christine...I love you") and she had to force herself to turn away and go back to Raoul.

It's a bit amusing how she keeps getting alternately frightened off and mesmerized by the Phantom though. She keeps falling in love with him whenever he sings to her, like in the mirror scene, the boat scene (Phantom Of The Opera), the watery lair scene (Music Of The Night) and the Don Juan Triumphant scene (Point of No Return).

It was really sad and sweet when she sang All I Ask Of You to Raoul and they keep Frenching throughout the song, and when they left the Phantom picked up the rose Christine had dropped and sheds tears over it while singing All I Ask Of You (Reprise) ("He was bound to love you when he heard you sing, Christine..."), then shreds the rose petals in anger.

OH AND THE LAST BIT. When Christine kisses the Phantom, it's so romantic and way better than all the kissing she did with Raoul. And his surprised happiness is so touching.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!

I think Gerard Butler is way too hot to play the Phantom. He's supposed to be this ugly freak, not some guy who had third-degree burns on his face and who still looks darned cute as long as he has the mask on.

Lol lol lol some guy from Stomp wants to interview us (Cel JY me) about Room 102. Or to be more exact, the Room 102 ghost. Apparently she doesn't only exclusively inhabit Room 102 though, she also visits other rooms in the hotel. Hmm.

Paiseh I thought for the past 1 1/2 years that it was Celine who saw the ghost, and it was actually Jingyi?!

Khookar+Hoepar+Varthy = Khookarhoe and Parvarthy!

Oh dear I hope the teachers don't ever read Stomp. I don't think they'd appreciate the description of them as being so scary, even the ghost didn't dare to haunt them. (It was perfectly true. They slept in Room 102 for one night because they're brave and scientific and fierce and the ghost didn't dare go near them.)

By the philosopher Bertrand Russell:

If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.

And further developed by Richard Dawkins.

The reason organized religion merits outright hostility is that, unlike belief in Russell's teapot, religion is powerful, influential, tax-exempt and systematically passed on to children too young to defend themselves. Children are not compelled to spend their formative years memorizing loony books about teapots. Government-subsidized schools don't exclude children whose parents prefer the wrong shape of teapot. Teapot-believers don't stone teapot-unbelievers, teapot-apostates, teapot-heretics and teapot-blasphemers to death. Mothers don't warn their sons off marrying teapot-shiksas whose parents believe in three teapots rather than one. People who put the milk in first don't kneecap those who put the tea in first.

--

Nobody says you can't believe in your version of teapots. Just don't whack people for not believing in it. And don't tell them they'll go to hell for it, it's just not polite.

This post isn't directed at anyone in particular; it's just a random rant at the people who insist on making non-teapotbelieving people like me believe in their idea of what The Teapot should be like.

Heh today was fun :D

I woke up late today so I, um, (CONFESSION ALERT) skipped breakfast and chionged to school, thinking everyone would be there at 7.30 and it wouldn't be nice to be later than everyone else.

I was EARLY. By half an hour, no less. (But Carey, Peilin and Verna reached school fifteen minutes earlier. Those people are amazing.)

Then Van, Alicia and Sandra came. Sara and Sindhu were in school too, but they were doing CAC stuff :/

So we had FD prac until 11am, and discussed TD until 12.30pm when the Four Languages (Verna, Lingzhi, Sara, Sindhu) finally came down to join the rest of us going for year lunch. Only Lingzhi went for lunch in the end though.

Then yearlunch :D We started at around 1pm and ended at, um, 4pm. We hogged the KFC table for 3 whole hours while having a talkcrapsession Very Important Discussion About Very Important Things. But Carey and Sandra had to go early D: So Audrey, Lingzhi, Peilin and I stayed behind at KFC to talk until 4.

Then I went home and had a really nice dinner :) Honey chicken and luohanzhai with cabbage, yay.

Gosh this is freaky.

I was reading Alicia's blog and happily looking through the pictures, when suddenly I saw someone in the CAP SHIRT.

I looked closer and realised it was MEAGHAN!

(She's my Drama groupmate and a very nice person, unless you happen to talk to her when she's sleepy/sick.)

It seems everyone in CAP knows someone I know. Like Rach just told me her friend called Carissa (who I know exists, but I don't know her by face or personally) was wearing the CAP shirt in church.

It seems that everyone in CAP's in the same church as someone I know.

This is freaky. No wonder nobody knows me, since I'm not a Christian and don't go to church.

ArberMS stats:
Priest, currently level 76/78, can't remember which.

Okay sorry Xinyuan but uh I don't really get this whole thing, so I'm only going to do this for the AVPA Sec 2 batch first. Anyone else who wants my opinion on you can tag and I'll do it for you too. :D

--

Drop a tag and:

1. I'll respond with something random about you

2. I'll challenge you to try something

3. I'll pick a colour that I associate with you

4. I'll tell you something I like about you

5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you

6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of

7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you

8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your blog

--

Xinyuan, on me:

1. Museum exhibit! :D

2. Tell Wesley you like him. Mwahaha.

3. Pale pink. Sorry if you sound like a Barbie doll, though I think you won't mind =)

4. Um, I won't inflate your ego. So there =P

5. You looking half-afraid-of-catching-plague, half-freaked-out when I plonked myself on the only empty chair in the bio lab in Sec1.

6. Chihuahua. No idea why.

7. I shall RESERVE this... opportunity. Hmms.

My reply to her:

1. Ex-judoka who can fight better than me even on crutches. Paiseh.

2. Tell ____ to go away. Hey, haven't you ALWAYS wanted to do that but were too polite to do so?

3. I associate different colours to characters and faces. Character: Green with a hint of brown. Face: Grey. The shade of grey in the Deathnote movie promotional poster.

4. Your ability to pretend to listen when I rant about something.

5. Earliest memory: Telling me that you could have gotten my score for the English diagnostic test if only you hadn't made careless mistakes. I was too polite to say anything then, but I remember wanting to say that if I hadn't made any careless mistakes, I'd have gotten FULL MARKS. Lol. I've always been an arrogant little brat.

Clearest memory: Sitting at the back of the science lab being freaked out when I realised the scary manly-looking girl was late and hadn't gotten a lab partner yet, and I was the only one in class without a lab partner. *cue horror music*

6. Monkey. Monkey eat banana.

7. Will the onion ever be peelable?

Rach:

1. Paikia.

2. Uh abit the hard leh. You dare to do a lot of things I wouldn't dare to do. Try breakdancing?

3. Face: Navy blue. Character: Black. Pitch black. As black as the hair of an emokid.

4. Your sense of humour! And writing style.

5. In P4, when you said "heck care" and I chastised you because I thought it was a really bad swear word, and you said something like "AHAHAHA HECK CARE HECK CARE HECK CARE LA."

6. Puppy. I think it was the two ponytails, they look like drooping doggy ears.

7. How do you manage to make the piercings not close?

Vic:

1. A successful straight-back-walking convert. At least you don't slouch so much anymore, which makes your posture loads better.

2. Try skateboarding, or rollerblading. Or competitive swimming.

3. Face: Pastel pink. Character: Dark red. The colour of thick, warm blood.

4. Your loyalty, I guess. In terms of character. Otherwise it'd be your imbapro intelligence. You're so freakingly smart, it's unfair.

5. First Chinese class, when you and Rach abandoned me and started talking to each other and totally daoed me because you thought I was a mugger with a sad life.

6. Rabbit. I think it's the pink cheeks.

7. Ahem too private to say here.

Yay.

Year outing was cool. :)

But I know that no post of mine can beat Audrey's imba120photos post, so go read her blog for the full details of YO0606.

Sandra's mum is amazingly nice.

Anyway, I've been trying to play ArberMS since Vic keeps telling me of its ownage exp and drop rate. Yeah fine Maple is for kids. Whatever.

BUT I'VE BEEN STUCK IN THE QUEUE FOR SUPER LONG CAN?!

Grahhhhh. Why, Arber, why.

Still, I must persevere. In thunder, lightning, or in rain. And that was random, sorry. I love quotes.

Jabberwocky
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Yayyyy.

Okay I know most people wouldn't rejoice over this sort of thing la but still.

Ahem.

The only thing I'm unhappy about is that I paisehed myself the whole day today.

But still.

WHEEEEEE.

100th post;

Okay yay year outing tomorrow! (:

Was tagged by Vic and Xinyuan (notice how nobody loves her enough to shorten her name. Heh kidding la.) to do a quiz.

Grah I'm hungry.

Q1: Do you like your present school?
A1: Yeah why not. For the opportunities offered and for the people. Well some people, anyway.

Q2: What do you want the most now?
A2: To finish my homework and pull up my GPA so that it becomes decent. To meet up with CAPpers, especially Didgeridoo and CAPdrama '08. To meet up with yearmates. To be devoid of any responsibility whatsoever.

Q3: Who is the closest person to you in your school?
A3: Me. Or barring me, the AVPA Sec2 batch.

Q4: Do you hate your friends sometimes?
A4: Yeah. Though if they're my friends, I obviously can't hate them for long.

Q5; Are you afraid of death?
A5: I'm not so scared of death as I'm scared of the process of dying. I did research and 99% of the time, dying is painful.

Q6: What is your goal this year?
A6: Those that I can make public are to manage my time better, to pull up GPA and to somehow weasel my way into mentorship/Lit RA. Oh and also to make my Scenario Writing piece one that I can actually be proud of.

Q7: Do you believe in love at first sight?
A7: It's happened before, so I guess yes?

Q8: Do you believe in eternal love?
A8: No. Love is just a Chemical Romance, and when you die and the chemicals decay, it's gone. Sorry buddy.

Q9: What is the weather like today ( changed question )
A9: It just rained. Now what was the original question?

Q10: What do you enjoy doing the most?
A10: If you ask me, it's singing by the piano at CAP seminar, playing the bottle game and sitting with yearmates at year lunches/dinners/lunners.

Q11: Have you ever done anything for your admirer?
A11: I ended it early.

Q12: What feeling do you hate most?
A12: Wanting something you know it's impossible to have, but not daring to try for it.

Q13: Do you cherish every single friendship of yours?
A13: Regrettably, no. I try, though.

Q14; Who would you probably spend the rest of your life with?
A14: Mr Cheese Fries, or Mr Cream Pasta.

Q15; What do you think is the most important thing in your life?
A15: I'm Joshng. FOOD.

Q16: Do you find life meaningless?
A16: I'm in a crummy mood today. Yes.

Q17: What do you live for?
A17: Food, meeting up with yearmates, writing, the memories of CAP, bottlegames, trying to be an overachiever, love.

Q18: Who do you talk most to in school?
A18: Myself.

Q19: What book are you currently reading?
A19: I have a sad life. My most recent book was Eye on the World: Healing Silence.

Q20: What is your hobby?
A20: Vegetating online.

I tag...

THE HWA CHONG GHOST.

Pictures from CAP! This'll be the only CAP post with pictures because my computer is freakingly slow when loading pictures onto Blogger.

Didgeridoo! From left: Delvin, Jingjie, Greg, Shaowei, Christine, Rachel, Cleo, Cheryl, Crystal, Dawn, (David) Crawshaw, Jiashun
Random picture of me in my room on the first day. Can't be bothered to tilt it.
A mostly empty Kent Ridge dining hall.
Half of my cluttered table. And yes, that's 6 bottles of water right there.
Engineering Faculty, NUS. It's a pretty nice place. I love glass-and-concrete buildings.

This is from Rohan's (yes, the guy of last-issue-of-aCAPella-back-page fame) blog, and it fully expresses my feelings (and practically all the other CAPpers' too).

YOU KNOW YOU'RE SUFFERING FROM CAPwithdrawal when:
1. You wake up later than 12 the morning after
2. You rush because you think you're late
3. You go gaga over the rows of Twiggies in Cold Storage
4. You create a Facebook account just to join CAP Alumni
5. You play the bottle game with yourself in the bathroom
6. You laugh at people in their faces for not knowing the bottle game
7. You cry when no one thinks the bottle game is impressive
8. You wonder why everyone shies away from hugs
9. You want to stay in NUS forever
10. You sing "You are my crawshaw" to yourself to sleep
11. You search Kinokuniya for all the books by the plenary speakers
12. You're nodding to yourself while reading this!

Haha during lunch today I started replaying the Crawshaw song in my head. And I NEED to ask Jiashun about the Banana song he almost-taught us on the second day.

Somehow at CAP, everyone knows someone somebody else knows, which is kind of creepy because all the links come back to you. :D

Oh no SPH thingy tomorrow. Sian, I'm still suffering from CAP hangover. It shouldn't last THAT long, right?!

I admire the people who can switch modes effortlessly. If I'm in, say, AV mode, I just CAN'T do anything year-related until a few hours later. In that sense, I'm somewhat glad that I shut out everything about RGS life when I was in CAP, or I'd have had a Mode Clash. Disasterous. The last time I had one, I wrote some poem about Flag Days. It turned out so corny that I cringe while reading it now, even though it ended up in my CAP portfolio. Aaah screwupscrewupscrewup.

And mentorship portfolio is freaking me out. I thought being a scenario writer would give me a little more confidence in my own writing, but when I saw everyone else's writing at CAP I just died. Honestly, now that it's over, I can openly say that I put down "Chick Literature, such as The Princess Diaries" as my favourite genre of books on my application form. It was partly a subtle nose-thumbing at the emos who put, I don't know, "Ancient Classical Novels and Shakespeare Plays" on their forms, but it's partly true too.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH LIKING THE PRINCESS DIARIES, HUH?!?!

Besides, when I borrowed the book from Vic and brought it to class, a whole lot of people asked if they could borrow it. It just shows that everyone has an inner romantic (or an inner elevenyearold), and some people choose to let that inner romantic take over sometimes in their choice of books to read for leisure.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure mentors don't want mentees who read chick lit. They'd probably rather have...I don't know, Xinyuan? The kind who write poems that require literary analysis to find the deep meaning inside them. I wrote about flag days and hamburgers for my portfolio. It's trivial and I like trivial things, but trivial things just don't cut it.

I shall cut this part of my post short because I'm starting to sound like a self-pitying freak with no talent.

--

The karung guni guy's coming at 3pm to take away the old TV, because we just got a new one and it's coming in two days. I kind of miss the old one, because I've watched so many awesome shows on it. But it's CRT, the colours are slowly fading into black, white, grey and we should have dumped it long ago for a shiny new LCD.

Oh well.

And I'm dreaming of a new computer, but deep inside I know this one's still perfectly functional. (And it's so pretty! :D) Besides, we've already gotten a lot of new tech gadgets this month. I just got a pink shiny camera which I took along with me to CAP, only to find that it doesn't have SteadyShot and my pictures are blurry. But at least I still have pictures.

Year outing countdown: 4 more days to go.

[edit] The full blow of Vic's saying that she thinks I have something going with _____ just hit me, and suddenly "duh, no" just doesn't express it well enough. Do I look like that kind of person, seriously? Ewww. Some people, like me, don't get influenced by the scandalousness of CAP okay.
